Winter Rose is a 60' Semi Trad 2006 4 berth Dave Clarke narrowboat available for viewing at Frouds Bridge Marina Aldermaston.
Winter Rose is a lovely 2006 60’ Semi Tradition 4 berth Narrowboat with a Bill Harp fit out on a Dave Clarke Hull.
Winter Rose has a sense of being a well looked after boat and this is evident from the beautiful paintwork on the exterior to immaculate engine bay and spacious, light and airy feel internally with a practical yet very comfortable feel. Winter Rose has everything you need on board for leisure cruising or indeed continuous cruising ready to explore the systems.
Winter Rose is very well maintained and you can see this when we start at the stern of the boat. The engine bay is very well kept and powerhouse of the boat, a Beta 38 diesel engine, is clean and oil free which was serviced in Spring 2019. The engine compartment also holds the domestic battery bank which consists of 5 x 170 Amp / Hour deep cycle batteries and a separate starter battery. A Smartbank system couples the two alternators once the starter battery is fully charged giving the domestic bank a charging capacity of 110 Amps.
Inside Winter Rose has a nice light interior thanks to the light cream painted upper linings and the oak veneer gunwales. The flooring has been fitted throughout with a light oak wooden flooring.
Moving down into the rear of the boat you come to a well thought out storage area with two full sized double cupboards with shelving and hanging space. These are perfect as wardrobes or storage for the cruising accessories. The steps you walk down also provide great space and either side of these you will find the invertor and calorifier, which are easily accessible. In this area you will find the control systems for the boat including the Smartgauge battery monitor mounted in the wall.
You then enter the bedroom, which has a fixed double bed with ample storage below. There are two free-standing chests of drawers, built in single cupboard fitted with shelves, radiator and two portholes either side.
Next you enter the shower room. This room is spacious and well laid out. There is a Thetford cassette toilet, corner ceramic sink with a spacious cupboard below, mirror, radiator and good-sized tiled enclosed shower with solid chrome fittings and fixtures.
Continuing along the corridor you reach the well-equipped galley. There is a full-size New World gas cooker with four burners, grill and oven. Next to that is a stainless steel sink and draining board. There is ample worktop space both port and starboard. There is a good amount of storage with a large under-sink cupboard, a three-drawer unit, two full sized cupboards with work surface above, and a narrow cupboard with vegetable racks inside and a drawer above. There is also a 240-volt fridge.
Stepping through into the saloon area you will find a nice comfortable space to allow you to relax after a day’s cruising. Here you will find a folding dining table and four chairs, leather Captain’s chair and stool, and a double settee which converts into 2 further berths. There is also a radiator, a Lockgate Reflex diesel stove which powers the radiators and built in shelves and cupboard below the television. There are cassette blinds fitted to all windows in the living and galley area.
From the saloon, via two steps with storage underneath you open the two solid glazed bow doors and step up onto the bow deck. Here you will find a separate domestic diesel tank which supplies the stove. The front locker contains the two gas cylinders and the anchor, but with plenty of space of other bits of cruising items. Under the bow deck is the water tank with the filler cap on the front.
Winter Rose is a beautifully presented narrow boat that has been maintained with care. The exterior was given a full back to metal repaint at Aston Marina in 2015. The hull was blacked in October 2018, she was serviced in spring 2019, and has a BSS valid until July 2022.
