Hereward is a beautiful 62’ Trad style narrowboat built by the highly regarded Steve Hudson in 2010. The traditional lines, josher style bow, and replica rivets are just some of the hallmarks which make his boats so sought after.
She handles very comfortably, powered by the JD3 tug engine (with only 1,300 hours on it) and assisted by the bowthruster.
The well deck is a good size at 5’ and has a drop down table and two benches with storage under. This leads into the saloon. The fit out is first class, and finished in oak T& G, oak faced ply and solid oak trim. There is a solid fuel stove in here, TV, cupboards a-plenty and a light prism in the roof.
The L shaped dinette follows and has a demountable table cleverly stowed under the gunwale, and this makes up into a large (6’1”x4’7”) cross bed.
The galley is 6’7” long and has a 12v fridge, stainless steel sink, gas hob, oven and grill, and a microwave. A side hatch is on the starboard side, and a houdini hatch over.
The fixed 6’5”x4’1” double berth sits midships in a beautifully crafted room complimented by a large double wardrobe and ample alternative storage options.
The bathroom is a walk-through arrangement and offers plenty of space. There is a good sized tiled shower cubicle, a stylish ceramic sink, heated towel rail and a pump out loo.
The engine room is next, housing the Beta JD3 tug, the (new) battery bank, the 3.5kw Travelpower generator and the Mastervolt 2.5kw inverter - there is no shortage of 230v power! There are two side hatches in here also.
The traditional back cabin is the last room and oozes a wonderful feel of the past. Beautifully scumbled she has the traditional crossbed offering another double berth, the drop down table, and another solid fuel stove - a real comfort to the winter helmsman.
She is centrally heated and hot water is from either the engine, webasto or immersion,
She has just been blacked & serviced, and she is a wonderful craft ready for immediate occupation.
